Helen Has a House for Rent

Welcome to our home. Myself and my husband Alan love welcoming international guests to our fantastic capital city and to our home which is in a quiet, friendly street in Streatham South London with our 2 cats Sammy and Jack. I work for 2 charities helping refugees and asylum seekers and Alan runs his own business managing nature reserves in London. Sammy and Jack are typical cats so just relax all day! Our house is relaxed and quiet for your stay. A light breakfast, fresh towels, toiletries and hairdryer are provided and included in the room price. We have a garden and you can use the kitchen to prepare food if you like. The bus stop and rail train station are less that 7 minutes walk from the house. It is easy to get to the tube (Brixton or Balham underground station). The nearest rail stations are Streatham Common (7 minutes' walk) and Streatham (10 minutes by bus). We have good connections to London Gatwick, London Heathrow and London Luton airports. London Stanstead is a bit further away. There is free street parking outside the house 24/7 every day. We now have the 24 hour tube to Brixton on Saturdays and Fridays and night buses every day so you can get home 24/7 all week. You can get to central London, tourist places (Oxford Street, London Eye, Buckingham Palace, Big Ben, British Library, British Museum, Natural History Museum, Covent Garden, museums, markets and galleries) and shops like Primark in 30 minutes. You can also get to Brixton or Croydon in 20 minutes which are both good places for food, clothes and shopping. We have a gym, swimming pool, park, bars, shops, supermarkets, cinema, clubs and restaurants within 10 minutes' by bus. We have travelled to lots of cities in Europe and also visited many places in Africa, South America, USA and Scandinavia and enjoy meeting new people from all over the world. We have had guests stay with us from all around the world, including the UK, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Argentina, Ireland, Turkey, Jamaica, Canada, Russia, USA, Spain, Austria, Sicily, Bulgaria, Finland, Columbia, Macedonia, Sicily, Algeria, Australia, Malta, South Africa, Germany, Morocco, Greece, China, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Czech Republic, France, Israel, Nigeria, Brazil, Hungary and Ireland. We are happy to host language students, tourists, interns and anyone starting a new job in London. We will do our best to help you enjoy your stay in London. We are happy to recommend restaurants, bars, markets, tourist places and help you plan your travel and make the best of your stay. We do not host families with children as our house is not suitable or unaccompanied children under 18. Our lounge and offices are off limits to guests.
